Oh Paula I LOVED reading this (but it did make me miss South London a lot!!). We've also had Blackbird on repeat in our house recently... the whole of Cowboy Carter in fact. My partner has actually been listening to The Beatles this week off the back of being obsessed with Cowboy Carter too, ha! I'm off to watch The Assembly and look up Gathering now...

I think I was a bit late to the Cowboy Carter party as I didn’t listen to the album as soon as it came out but I’m really enjoying it. Thanks Rachel! I only learned about the inspiration for Blackbird a couple of years back when I saw a video of Paul McCartney talking about it. I didn’t know Rizzle Kicks did a version - I’ll see if there’s a video of their performance online.

My smile moment was seeing my first swallow. This is the first year I've looked out for them and I was genuinely smiling from ear to ear when I saw one on an overhead wire whilst out for a run. I've just check back on my note and it was 18th April 2024! x
How lovely to see a swallow! I don’t know if it’s my age but I now get so much joy from spotting birds I wouldn’t usually see. (Friends from outside London sometimes laugh at me getting so excited about nature 😂) Re. Bluebells I liked the name cuckoo’s boots a lot too 😊 I hope you enjoy The Assembly - I found it really touching. And I’d love to know what you think of Gathering too. Thanks Janelle! ✨x
