A Soothing Breathing Practice for You

This month’s edition of A Peaceful Pause is a little different.

I want to highlight Mindwalk Yoga. A not-for-profit social enterprise founded in 2020 by Zakiya Bishton, Mindwalk Yoga is the UK’s first online yoga studio led by Black women.

From the Mindwalk Yoga website:

“We are a diverse group of women with knowledge and experience in the myriad of benefits yoga can provide in general wellness and in supporting conditions and life stages, including anxiety, depression and menopause. While our online studio is open to everyone, we also host exclusive online Black women’s resting retreats.

Yoga is proven to support physical and mental health, yet, it is often exclusive, expensive and lacks inclusive spaces led by Black people. Through our research, we’ve found that Black women feel underrepresented in Yoga and have felt unwelcome in mainstream yoga spaces. We’ve created Mindwalk Yoga as an antidote to this reality.

How it works: Our Yoga App offers 300+ on-demand yoga practices and monthly livestream classes. You can pick from a monthly subscription, drop-in to a Livestream class and rent on-demand practices. Ready to explore our Yoga App? Browse, try a sample practice, and join us for a 7-day free trial.”

This 5 Min Calming Breathing with Paula (i.e. me!) practice is available for non-members during March, so why not try this plus some of the other sample practices available and sign-up for a 7-day trial.

Find out more about Mindwalk Yoga and the team of well-being facilitators here.

I hope you enjoy this practice.

NB - If you’re reading this after March 2024, I’ve still got you covered. Here is another short, soothing guided breathing practice from me. This is Being With Your Breath (5mins 44secs):
