I read a tweet (yes, I still call them tweets) about a month ago, which read as follows:
“How has everyone got so much money? I can’t afford gig tickets and holidays, and am baffled at how anyone can at the moment.”

However, it is evident that the cost of living and the legacy of Covid in the form of chronic illness is impacting more people, including some who would, in the past, have taken being able to go on holiday at least once a year for granted.
If you are able to go on holiday and to travel for pleasure, that’s a great thing to fully embrace, but it is a privilege that’s not available to everyone. And though finances can certainly be a barrier they aren’t the only reason why some people can’t go away.
