So far it’s been a summer of stepping back a little. I’m still ‘doing’ things but not the things I’d assumed I would be. The flare-up of an old injury put paid to a number of my plans. But, though I didn’t feel that way at first, I’m now grateful for the timing.

The stepping back is turning out to be helpful for hearing myself better. And for asking myself the question:

What do I really want?

And having the space to listen and find my way towards the whispers that will provide me with an honest answer.

I think this is an important question to ask yourself at regular intervals because the answer does usually change and, sometimes, the answer can surprise you.
