Welcome to the second edition of The Reset. This is a regular monthly offering for paid subscribers along A Peaceful Pause. If you missed the first one you can find it here.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month in the USA, while here in the UK Mental Health Awareness Week takes place from 15th to 21st May. The theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is anxiety.
“When it comes to anxiety we often think about mental agitation. However, anxiety can be experienced in many ways and the symptoms can be physical as well as mental - for instance, unexplained muscle aches and pains, tingling skin or gastrointestinal issues.” - from my book, Rest + Calm: Gentle yoga and mindful practices to nurture and restore yourself.
Anxiety is something increasingly more of us are experiencing, especially since the pandemic. For me, anxiety was something that accelerated when I entered perimenopause. (At the time I didn’t know that anxiety is a common symptom associated with menopause.)
This month’s edition of The Reset is a restorative yoga for anxiety class. (If you’re new to restorative yoga, I explain what it is here.) It features the Rest Session for Anxiety from my book, Rest + Calm, with some other bits included to offer you some simple tools you can utilise in your day-to-day life.
