This is the second of four aspects of restorative yoga.
How often do we allow ourselves to embrace quiet?
We have near constant stimulation nowadays and sometimes we are the ones looking to distract ourselves, afraid of what will come up in our minds if we stop. But in our fast-paced world, inviting some quiet time into our days can be so beneficial for our overall wellbeing. It’s why I don’t play music during savasana (or at all nowadays) in the classes that I teach - for some people that few minutes might be the only silence they have in their day. And when I am practising my 20 minute savasana each day this month I fully, joyfully embrace the quiet.
